Good morning Banning USD Elementary School Families,
We hope this message finds you well. We would like to bring to your attention an important update regarding the 2023/24 school year calendar. Please take a moment to review the attached revised calendar. It is important to note a significant change: Tuesday, December 19th: This date will not be a Minimum Day for Elementary School students. Please ensure that your Elementary School children are present for the full day of classes. For Middle School and High School students, the schedule will remain unchanged, and December 19th will still be observed as a Minimum Day. We understand that adjustments to the school calendar may affect your planning, and we appreciate your understanding. Your attention to this revision ensures that all students continue to receive the valuable instructional time they deserve. Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.

We are still experiencing an outage of our wi-fi districtwide. At this time, we do not have an estimate on when this will be fully operational again, however, our team has been working diligently through the weekend with our network provider to get operational as quickly as possible. We would like to assure you that our instructional team is being supported by the leadership team who is providing additional resources to minimize the impact to instruction in our classrooms. We are happy to report that power is being restored districtwide. Banning High School, Coombs, Hemmerling, and the Transportation Department have their power restored with no internet or phones at this time. We anticipate that all school sites and district offices should have their power restored shortly. There may be further delays to reboot network systems.

We are aware of a current power outage that is affecting all of our campuses and district offices with the exception of Cabazon Elementary School. We are working closely with the city to monitor when it will be restored. At this time, we will continue with the full school day as scheduled.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you have all been well. After much movement, the concert has been moved to December 15 th , 2023 at 6pm. Call time for all students is 5pm. This movement of dates have been to accommodate all schools and events. The last two dates conflicted with meetings and events from different schools and the district. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Rehearsal for Elementary Orchestra Students (Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass) will be on Friday, December 15 th , at 4:30pm and will just continue until concert time. I understand this is a bit more. However, I would like to meet with them before the concert and work altogether. They can come ready to go and rehearse altogether. I want to extend a sincere apology as I have had some difficult weeks. From personal family issues to my mother being critically sick. The year has not been easy for me. However, my students are extremely important to me and I will always give my 110% as much as possible. It has been difficult, but I will want to continue well for my students. Please understand, that I am working to make everything well for all students. All students will still dress the same as the last two letters. We will work diligently to make this smoother and better next time around. Our sincerest apologies. We look forward to an amazing concert with all the students.
